French stock market index down 0.50 pct on Monday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with a decrease of 0.50 percent at 5,117.17 points on Monday, down 25.72 points.

With the ongoing regional and municipal elections in Spain and the always worrying situation in Greece, the CAC 40 closed slightly lower on Monday with 30 of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease.

The four companies that gained most on Monday were Peugeot, up 0.87 percent, ArcelorMittal, up 0.65 percent, along with both Kering and Publicis Groupe up 0.55 percent.

The three companies that lost most on Monday were Bouygues, down 1.58 percent, BNP Paribas, down 1.37 percent, and GDF Suez, down 1.20 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with a slight decrease of 0.07 percent at 5,142.89 points, down 3.81 points. Endit
