Xinhua, May 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Up to six civilians were killed after a vehicle touched off an improvised explosive device, causing a blast in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province on Monday, a provincial government spokesman said.

"The incident took place at around 08:10 p.m. local time along a road in Nikashalli area of Shah Wali Kot district, which left six people aboard the vehicle killed on the spot," spokesman Samim Khpalwak told Xinhua.

The official blamed the Taliban militants for the attack.

Nearly 3,700 civilians were killed and more than 6,800 others wounded in conflicts and Taliban-led attacks in 2014, according to official figures by the UN mission in the country.

The officials blamed the attacks of Taliban insurgents and other armed groups for vast majority of the civilian deaths and injuries. Endi
