Germany's benchmark DAX index closes down

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday dropped slightly by 49.58 points and closed at 11,815.01 points.

As the European Central Bank and the Federal Reserve have both set the course for the next few weeks, investors at the stock exchange in Frankfurt are still looking for impulses, according to local analysts. The blue-chip index lost 0.42 percent.

The utilities company RWE AG St topped the list of risers with an increase of 0.47 percent. Deutsche Boerse AG added 0.22 percent. LANXESS AG, a specialty chemicals company, climbed by 0.12 percent.

On the other hand, Deutsche Telekom AG lost 4.55 percent. Deutsche Bank AG dropped by 2.93 percent. HeidelbergCement AG slipped by 1.71 percent. Infineon Technologies AG, a semiconductor company, slid by 1.44 percent. ThyssenKrupp AG went down by 1.09 percent.

The turnover stood at 2.71 billion euros (around 3.01 billion U.S. dollars ). Daimler AG was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 220.28 million euros (around 245 million U.S. dollars). Endit
