Vietnam U23 ties Myanmar 2-2 in friendly football match

Vietnamese U23 football team drew with Myanmar in a friendly match 2-2 at a stadium in Vietnam's northeastern Quang Ninh province on Friday night.

Vietnamese striker Cong Phuong scored the first goal of the game for Vietnam at the 23rd minute. At the 75th minute, Myanmar leveled the game from a penalty after Vietnamese goalkeeper Minh Toan's foul.

Only two minutes later, Vietnam raised the score to 2-1, but Myanmar got its second goal from another penalty at the 90th minute, drawing the match 2-2.

The friendly match with Myanmar is among the preparation for the upcoming 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games to be held in Singapore in June.

Vietnamese U23 set a target to enter the semi-finals of the football event at the SEA Games. The football event will see the participation of ten teams. Vietnam has been drawn alongside Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei, Laos and Timor Leste in Group B while Singapore, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia and the Philippines are in Group A. Endite
