China into top eight of Asian Women's Volleyball Championship

Hosts China made to the final eight as the group stage ended in the Asian Women's Volleyball Championship here on Friday.

As Fiji withdrew in the first match, China beat India 3-0 on Thursday and Iran 3-0 tonight to guarantee the first rank in Group A. Iran ranked the second with six points and India has three.

In Group B, Thailand had an easy 3-0 victory over Sri Lanka today to remain undefeated after three matches. Chinese Taipei beat Chinese Hong Kong 3-0 finish second.

Vietnam kept a 100 percent record in Group C. Japan upset Mongolia 3-0 to secure a final eight seat.

South Korea smashed the Philippines 3-0 today to become No. 1 in Group D. Australia lost to Kazakhstan 3-0 and missed the ticket to the top eight.

In the quarterfinals, China, Iran, Japan and Vietnam will be in Group E and Group F is consisted of Thailand, Chinese Taipei, South Korea and Kazakhstan. Endi
