On Thursday evening, two candidates for the post of the President of Poland -- Bronislaw Komorowski and Andrzej Duda, took part in a second live TV debate.

The second debate was divided into three parts, concerning internal policy, foreign affairs and economy. The format included both questioning by journalists and exchange among the candidates.

The first debate was held on May 17, after the first round of the elections. It covered the issues of national security, foreign affairs and internal affairs. Both of the debates were transmitted via media.

The first round of the election was held on May 10. Andrzej Duda got 34.76 percent of votes, winning by a narrow margin over Komorowski, who obtained 33,77 percent. The second round of the election will be held on May 24.

The incumbent, 63-year-old Bronislaw Komorowski, a member of the ruling Civic Platform party is performing the president's duties since 2010. He was chosen in elections following the tragic catastrophe of former president, Lech Kaczynski's plane in Smolensk, Russia.

Andrzej Duda is the official candidate of main opposition party, Law and Justice, whose leader is Jaroslaw Kaczynski, the twin-brother of the deceased president. He is a 43-year-old lawyer from Krakow.

The presidential elections in Poland are held every 5 years unless the term of office is terminated earlier, due to unexpected circumstances. Endit
