Eurozone inflation goes up to 0.0 pct in April

Eurozone annual inflation was 0.0 percent in April, up from minus 0.1 percent in March, according to figures from the statistical office of the European Union (EU) Eurostat on Tuesday.

Eurozone's annual inflation was 0.7 percent in April 2014.

Meanwhile, EU annual inflation also increased from minus 0.1 percent in March to 0.0 percent in April. A year earlier, the rate was 0.8 percent, said Eurostat.

The lowest annual rates were registered in Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Poland, while the highest annual rates were recorded in Malta and Austria in April, compared with the previous month.

The largest upward impacts to eurozone annual inflation came from restaurants and cafes, rents and vegetables, while fuels for transport, heating oil and gas had the biggest downward impacts, according to Eurostat. Endit
