Kenyan police probes killing of Italian businessman

Xinhua, May 18, 2015 Adjust font size:

Kenyan police said Monday they have launched investigations into the circumstances under which an Italian businessman was shot dead by suspected thugs in his house near Mlolongo, about 15kms east of Nairobi.

Athi River divisional police commander Kizito Mutoro said the unknown gunmen shot the Italian national, Paulo Rusconi, twice at close range in the chest before escaping without stealing anything from him.

"We do not know if the killers went into the house long before the night and waited to strike that late but he was shot twice. We have launched investigations to the incident," said Mutoro.

Police said Rusconi's body also had deep cut on the head when it was discovered on Monday morning. The deceased, a businessman in real estate, has been living in one of the units for the last nine months, according to the police.

Police who visited the scene said the gang raided at about 3 am and there was no break in into the house. Police are investigating the incident and so far no suspect has been arrested, said Mutoro. Endi
