Chinese ambassador voices support for investments in Piraeus port

Xinhua, May 16, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese Ambassador to Greece Zou Xiaoli on Friday reiterated the support of the Chinese government to investments in Piraeus port and the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the future.

Zou made the remarks while joining COSCO PCT CEO captain Fu Chengqiu and PCT top managers to welcome a delegation headed by Greek opposition centrist Potami (River) party Stavros Theodorakis for a tour at COSCO's subsidiary Piraeus Container Terminal (PCT) premises at Piraeus port.

"PCT is the pioneer of Chinese investments here. Their presence and their future expansion have great significance for our economic collaboration. It is not about COSCO's interest. It is about our common interest and our mutual benefit," the ambassador said.

PCT manages Piers II and III at Greece's largest port since 2009 under a 35-year concession agreement. The company has posted remarkable results ever since and promotes a vision to turn Piraeus into a leading international transit hub for products and services from Asia to Europe. Endit
