Police seize 90kg of cocaine in Russia's St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, May 13 (Xinhua) - Russia's Interior Ministry has confirmed the seizure of 90kg of cocaine in a large-scale drug bust in the country's northern capital St. Petersburg Wednesday.

Two Turkish citizens and two residents of Russia's Leningrad Oblast have reportedly been detained in connection with the seizure. The street value of the seized cocaine is estimated at around 200 million rubles (4 million U.S. dollars).

The operation was conducted by the Interior Ministry in conjunction with local Police and Customs officials as well as Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB).

Interior Ministry officials also confirmed that the search is underway for an Ecuadorian man of Arab origin believed to be the ringleader of the operation. Endite
