Goal-scoring feast features AFF Women's Championship

The 2015 AFF Women's Championship finished here Sunday evening, with goal-scoring feast featuring the 16-match tournament.

During the tournament, which lasted from May 1-10 in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City, a total 80 goals were scored for an average of five goals per match. There were no goalless ones.

The 25-year-old striker Nisa Romyen of Thailand, who won the crown by beating Myanmar 3-2 in Sunday's final, became the tournament's top scorer with nine goals. She was easily recognized through her movements with lightning speed.

Other leading scorers include Thai 20-year-old striker Alisa Rukpinij with 6 goals, Vietnamese 29-year-old striker Nguyen Thi Minh Nguyet with 6, Myanmar 27-year-old midfielder Naw Arlo Wer Phaw with 5, Vietnamese half-backer Nguyen Thi Tuyet Dung with 4, Vietnamese 24-year-old striker Huynh Nhu with 4, Myanmar 26-year-old midfielder Khin Moe Wai with 3, and Australian 15-year-old striker Princess Ibini-Isei with 3.

The tournament saw many lopsided victories. On March 3, Thailand steamrolled Indonesia 10-1. On March 4, Vietnam trounced Malaysia 7-0.

On March 5, Thailand defeated Laos 12-0, and Australia U-20 whitewashed Malaysia 7-0.

Eight teams, including Thailand, Australia U-20, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia and the Philippines, competed at the 2015 AFF Women's Championship. Endi
