Monchengladbach's Max Kruse agreed to join league rivals Wolfsburg until June 2019, the "Wolves" confirmed in a statement on Sunday.

The German international striker will join the "Wolves" at the end of the season as he put pen to paper on a four-year deal, until June 2019. German media reported since a few days that both clubs had agreed on a transfer, yet Wolfsburg waited until today to confirm the deal.

"We are very pleased that Max Kruse decided to join Wolfsburg. He's the kind of striker who has been missing in our squad. He will increase the quality and variability of our offense," Wolfsburg's manager Klaus Allofs said.

Kruse played already for a few Bundesliga clubs, such as Bremen, Freiburg and Monchengladbach among others. He scored overall 35 goals in 131 first division appearances. The 27-year-old striker is also part of Germany's national team where he made 11 caps to score one goal under Joachim Loew.

"I am looking forward to make my next career step in Wolfsburg. After the talks with Klaus Allofs and Dieter Hecking it was clear to me that I want to join Wolfsburg. Their style of play suits me and the squad has a great quality. I will now focus on the last two games with Monchengladbach before I slip over the Wolfsburg jersey after the summer break," Wolfsburg new arrival Max Kruse said.

His current team, Monchengladbach, occupy currently the 3rd place in the standings whereas his new side sits at the 2nd place. Endi
