Xinhua, May 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least five people were confirmed dead after local residents reported hearing gunshots Saturday night in the northern Swiss town of Wurenlingen, police said.

Police said the dead bodies were discovered outside a residential building in the town near the border with Germany, but local media reported that the death toll may rise to eight as more bodies were later found inside the building.

The gunman is believed to have committed suicide after killing the others, according to local media.

Investigation is underway to determine the identities of those killed and the cause of the incident, police said. Endi
