NE China-DPRK train tour to launch

Xinhua, May 8, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tourism authorities in northeast China's Liaoning Province are about to launch train tours of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) from the provincial capital Shenyang, they announced on Friday.

The first four-day tour, operated by Shenyang Railroad International Travel Agency, will begin on May 26.

The train will arrive in Pyongyang via the port city of Dandong. Passengers will be able to visit famous DPRK scenic spots including Kaesong, Myohuangsan and Panmunjom.

The trip cost of 2,000 to 3,000 yuan (322 to 483 U.S. dollars) will also cover the expense of staying at the famous Yanggakdo Hotel, the travel agency said.

Tourist excursions to the DPRK were suspended when it closed its borders, citing a growing Ebola threat, in October. Tourism between China and the DPRK restarted in April. Endi
