Three policemen sustained injuries as a blast rocked Khost city, the capital of the eastern Khost province on Thursday, deputy to provincial police chief, Mohammad Yaqub Mandozai said.

"A bomb planted by militants was detonated in Khost city at around 11:45 a.m. local time today injuring three police personnel, " Mandozai told reporters here.

The violent incident took place while dozens of people including some poets and writers were going to attend a poetry meeting inside a hall, the official said, adding no more people except the three policemen were hurt in the blast.

Without blaming anyone for the attack, the official said that investigation had been initiated into the case. Endi
