Seoul shares ended lower on Wednesday.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) declined 27.65 points, or 1.3 percent, to 2,104.58 at the close. Trading volume stood at 424.2 million shares worth 5.6 trillion won (5.2 billion U.S. dollars).

BEIJING -- Chinese shares tumbled on Wednesday,with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down by 1.62 percent to finish at 4,229.27 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.68 percent to close at 14, 136.17 points.

MANILA -- Philippine shares closed 0.58 percent lower on Wednesday.

The benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index decreased by 45. 57 points to 7873.64. The all-share index went down by 10.25 points, or 0.23 percent, to 4541.98.

TAIPEI -- Taiwan's share prices closed down 0.1 percent on Wednesday with the weighted index down 1.93 points at 9,818.20.

Turnover totaled 96.36 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 3.14 billion U.S. dollars) during the trading session.

VIENTIANE -- The Lao stock market finished on Wednesday down 0. 06 percent against the previous trading day.

The Lao Securities Exchange composite index decreased by 0.88 points to 1,461.31. A total of 144,185 shares worth about 1 billion Lao kip (about 125,000 U.S. dollars) changed hands at the stock market.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 549.3 points on Wednesday, down 3.35 points, or 0.61 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.

About 89.293 million shares worth 1.448 trillion Vietnamese dong (VND) (67.50 million U.S. dollars) changed hands at the southern HCM City Stock Exchange. Prices of 62 stocks went up, 168 stocks fell down while 56 stocks remained unchanged.
