American pop star Demi Lovato performed at the Diamond Island complex in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh for the first time Tuesday night, drawing thousands of her fans.

Demi Lovato, a multi-talented and platinum-selling record artist and one of Universal Music's top artists, came to show in Cambodia after more than 20,000 of her fans in Cambodia had requested her via the Demi Lovato Cambodia Fan Club Facebook page, according to a statement released by Cambodian telco Smart Axiata, which co-organized this free concert with Universal Music.

Demi Lovato, who shot to fame as a Disney Channel star in the United States before making the leap to a recording career, is popular for numerous mega hits such as "Let It Go," "Skyscraper," "Heart Attack," "Give Your Heart A Break," "Neon Lights" and her current single "Nightingale," the statement said.

"I am very excited to perform in Cambodia and thank Cambodian fans for supporting me," Demi Lovato told a press briefing prior to her show.

Thomas Hundt, chief executive officer of Smart Axiata, said, " The mega-concert marks a milestone for Cambodia and Smart. We are totally excited being able to bring such a world class artist like Demi to Cambodia." Endi
