Int'l military exercise starts in Jordan

Xinhua, May 5, 2015 Adjust font size:

A two-week-long international military drill started on Tuesday in Jordan, with the participation of more than 10,000 soldiers from 18 countries.

The drill seeks to test new weapons and boost skills of the participating teams, said Brig. Gen. Fahed Damen, director of Joint Military Training at the Jordan Armed Forces.

It will also be an opportunity to test a recently-formed Jordanian force for swift intervention, Damen said, adding that the drill has nothing to do with developments in the region.

Participating at the drill are servicemen from the United States, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Britain, France, Italy, Pakistan, Canada, Belgium, Poland, and Australia. Endit
