Beijing Guoan and Seoul FC grabbed their chances at the final round of group stage here on Tuesday, getting through to the knockout stage in the AFC Champions league.
Group G winner Beijing Guoan joined Suwon Samsung in the last 16 after the pair played out a 1-1 draw at Suwon World Cup Stadium.
Beijing started quickly as Damjanovic's low shot past Suwon's keeper in the 25th minute. The Montenegrin made no mistake as the striker hooked the ball home from close range following Erton Fejzullahu's pass over his shoulder.
Suwon pulled level just one minute later as Leo chested Lee Sang-ho's header, sending a left-footed volley rocketing into the net.
Both teams advanced to the last 16 after a goalless second half and Beijing Guoan topped the group on better results with each other.
In group H, Seoul FC sealed their place in the knockout stage at last minute. With a stoppage time goal, the South Korean side beat Kashima Antlers 3-2 and make Western Sydney Wanderers' effort all in vain.
The Wanderers became the first defending champions to go out at group stage in AFC champions league history, despite they managed 2-0 away victory over the 2013 champions Guangzhou Evergrande.
Guangzhou, who had already went through before the match, changed more than half of their starters.
In torrential rain, Western Sydney put their noses in front in the 33rd minute. Kim Youngwon slipped while attempting to make a clearance on the edge of the penalty area, only to see Mark Bridge took full advantage to fire a low shot past Li Shuai. The visitors secured the three points in 93rd minute as Tomi Juric smashed the ball to the post and deflected into the net.
The wanderers did not even have enough time to celebrate for the win, as Seoul FC's victory over Kashima Antlers make their effort all in vain. Endit
