Indian gov't has no idea of Dawood Ibrahim's location

The Indian government Tuesday said that it has no idea of the whereabouts of the country's most wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim.

"The subject has not been located so far. Extradition process with regard to Dawood Ibrahim would be initiated once the subject is located," India's junior Home Minister Haribhai Chaudhury told the Parliament.

This is a clear U-turn by the Indian government which had said last year that it repeatedly sought the underworld don's extradition from Pakistan.

"We have repeatedly asked Pakistan to hand over Dawood Ibrahim. Let's be patient, action will be taken soon," Home Minister Rajnath Singh had said in December last year.

Dawood is wanted in India for his role in the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai in which more than 300 people were killed. He was last said to be hiding in the Pakistani city of Karachi. Endi
