Indonesia continues search on nationals missing in Nepali earthquake

Indonesia continues search on six of its nationals who were failed to be contacted after a deadly earthquake in Nepal, in the meantime Indonesian medical relief has started operation in two Nepali areas hardest hit by the disaster, a senior official said on Monday.

The six missing Indonesian nationals include one staying in the country and five visitors. The search efforts were intensified in Langtang area, Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency ( BNPB) Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said.

According to a data released by Indonesian foreign affairs ministry, 95 Indonesian nationals were in Nepal when the deadly 7. 9 magnitude earthquake took place in April 25. As of Thursday last week most of them managed to be contacted with some of them already returned to Indonesia.

Sutopo also said that the third batch of Indonesian relief aid had landed in Kathmandu on Monday, adding that the third batch of Indonesian relief aid flight was loaded by food, solar cell power generating units, blankets and sarongs.

Indonesia's initial batch of relief aid was transported to Nepal on Thursday last week. Indonesia allocated a total of 2 million U.S. Dollars in relief aid to for those affected by earthquake in Nepal.

Sutopo added that Indonesia has received verbal advise from Nepali government to conduct relief operation up to the next three months.

"Indonesian medics have received permission to support medical services operation in Kanthipur hospital and set up field hospital in Satunggal district. Those areas were the most devastated ones in Nepal," Sutopo told Xinhua by phone.

In the initial operation, Sutopo said that Indonesian field hospital in Nepal's Satunggal district had received dozens of patients. Endi
