Two pairs from China defeated respective opponents to reach the women's doubles final at the world table tennis championships, securing the gold for the host China here on Sunday.

Ding Ning/Li Xiaoxia routed Li Jie of the Netherlands and Li Qian of Poland in straight sets (11-5, 11-2, 11-7, 11-6) while another Chinese duo Liu Shiwen/Zhu Yuling rallied to beat Feng Tianwei/Yu Mengyu of Singapore 9-11, 11-9, 11-6, 11-7, 11-4 in the semifinals.

China demonstrated its supremacy at these championships as its star players have won the women's singles and men's doubles titles the previous day, and also had a part in mixed doubles gold with China's world No.1 Xu Xin claiming the title with South Korean Yang Hae-un.

The most intriguing men's singles final will also be played between Chinese players. Endi
