Chinese star Ma Long whitewashed Chinese Hong Kong's Tang Peng 4-0 for a spot in the men's singles semifinals at the world table tennis championships on Saturday.

Ma, 26, underlined his status as the world number one as he defeated Tang 11-7, 11-9, 11-6, 11-1 easily.

"I got into my game slowly, and I think my opponent knows me very well, so he knows how to beat me," Tang said of the match.

Ma's looking for his first world title after being stopped three times at the semifinals in the past world championships, and he shall be taking on either German veteran Timo Boll or teammate Fan Zhengdong in these championships' semifinals.

"No matter who I meet, I won't have any pressure, I just want to do my job," said Ma. Enditem
