London Olympic 20km gold medalist Chen Ding clocked a season best time to win at the 2015 IAAF Race Walking Challenge event here on Friday while Duan Dandan claimed the title in the women's 20km event.

Leading from the very start of the race, the 22-year-old Chen built a huge advantage en route to the top podium in 1:19:53. It was Chen's second race in 2015 and his winning mark is 78 seconds faster than the 1:21:11 result when he finished third at the National Race Walk Grand Prix in Beijing in March.

China's Wang Kaihua, also from the national training team, registered a person best of 1:21:17 to finish as the runner-up while Kim Hyunsub of South Korea finished third in 1:21:43.

In the women's 20km race, China's Duan Dandan, who was a junior 10km titlist at the 2014 IAAF World Race Walking Cup, obtained a stunning victory as she outraced four teammates, who all had better personal times than Duan before, to claim the title in 1:32:21.

China's Hou Yongbo lagged 38 seconds behind to come home second and reigning champion Sun Huanhuan settled third in 1:33:57 to complete a podium sweep for the hosts. Endi
