Polish PM announces new Minister of Justice

Xinhua, May 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

Polish Prime Minister announced on Thursday that the new Minister of Justice would be Borys Budka. Budka will replace Cezary Grabarczyk, who handed in his resignation on Wednesday due to doubts considering his gun permission.

Budka is a 37-year-old lawyer, an experienced regional civil servant, a doctor of economics and deputy of the ruling Civic Platform.

Ewa Kopacz announced she'd apply to Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski for nominating Budka for the post of Minister of Justice on Thursday.

On the same day, Komorowski is supposed to accept the resignation of Grabarczyk, whose resignation followed the doubts concerning his firearms license legality.

Last week media reported that Grabarczyk was questioned by prosecutors over irregularities concerning issuing of his gun license. He is alleged to obtain the license without taking relevant exams. Endit
