China's top political advisor meets Equatorial Guinea's president

Top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng met with Equatorial Guinea's President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo on Wednesday in Beijing.

Obiang is making a state visit to China from April 27 to May 1.

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said China and Equatorial Guinea have understood and supported each other since they forged diplomatic ties 45 year ago.

During Obiang's visit, the two heads of state decided to upgrade bilateral ties to to an all-round partnership of cooperation and they drew up up a roadmap for future development, said Yu.

China is willing to work with Equatorial Guinea to implement the leaders' consensus, comprehensively push forward friendly cooperation in all sectors, so as to benefit people of the two countries, he said.

The CPPCC is willing to develop friendly and cooperative ties with the House of Councillors, House of Representatives, political parties and all walks of life in Equatorial Guinea, so as to make further contributions to the development of bilateral ties, said Yu.

Obiang thanked China for its consistent support to Equatorial Guinea, saying his country will strengthen all-round cooperation with China. Endi
