Bayern Munich's Arjen Robben suffered a calf injury meanwhile Robert Lewandowski's injury break due to facial fractures is to be determined, the "Bavarians" said on Wednesday.
Things went from bad to worse for Bayern as they suffered a heavy injury blow besides Tuesday's dramatic German Cup exit after the penalty shoot out against rivals Dortmund.
Dutchman Arjen Robben, who staged his comeback Tuesday, had to be replaced after 16 minutes with a season-ending torn calf muscle. Robben came in for Thiago Alcantara at the 68th minutes before Mario Goetze had to replace the Dutch international at the 84th minute.
Meanwhile, Robert Lewandowski had to spend one night in the hospital after the Polish international collided with Dortmund goalkeeper Mitchell Langerak following an aerial challenge during the extra time to sustain, besides a concussion, a broken nose and jaw. It is yet unclear when the striker can return to the pitch.
The loss of both players is a huge setback for Bayern coach Pep Guardiola in the light of the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against his former club Barcelona in Camp Nou on May 6.
With German Cup exit, Dortmund destroyed all hopes of the German record champions to wrap up another treble winning season. However, Pep Guardiola's men can still lift the Champions League title to seal the double, after snatching the Bundesliga title last week, four rounds ahead of schedule. Endi
