Bangladeshis discouraged to visit Nepal

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday alerted Bangladeshi citizens of the risks of travel to Nepal following the April 25 earthquake.

"Following the recent devastating earthquake in Nepal, government of Bangladesh discourages Bangladesh nationals to undertake any visit to Nepal for tourist purposes until the situation there becomes normal," said a travel alert issued by the ministry.

The 7.9-magnitude quake hit Nepal at midday on Saturday. The death toll from the powerful earthquake has soared to 5,057 and a total of 10,915 others were injured.

The Himalayan country has declared three days of national mourning for the quake victims. Endi
