Saudi arrests 2nd suspect in killing of two policemen in Riyadh

Xinhua, April 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Saudi Interior Ministry said a second suspect in the killing of two policemen in Riyadh was arrested on Tuesday, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Nawaf Sharif Samir Al-Anzi, known as Barjass, is accused of shooting and killing two policemen on April 8, according to the report.

On Friday, the ministry announced the arrest of the first suspect who confessed that he received instructions from the Islamic State (IS) group in Syria to carry out the attack.

He said Barjass met him in Riyadh and assigned him with the assassination.

The interior ministry said it acted upon a tip-off from an emergency phone number that Barjass was hiding in a camp in Rimah governorate, northwest of the capital Riyadh.

Barjass was wounded in an exchange of fire with police before his arrest. Endit
