Cooperation between gov't, citizens encouraged on water pollution prevention

Xinhua, April 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

Cooperation between the government and society to prevent water pollution will be advanced, according an announcement released by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and the Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP) on Monday.

The cooperation public-private-partnership (PPP) model will first be rolled out in regions where the waterways are on the national list of key support, as well as regions supported by water pollution prevention special funds.

A integration of methods including financial incentives, investment subsidies and fundraising allowances will be utilized to support the implementation of PPP projects concerning water pollution prevention.

Local governments should also encourage financial institutions to offer support for projects by raising the line of credit and improving credit ratings, the announcement said. Endit
