A senior Indonesian official said on Monday that Indonesia would totally allocate 2 million U.S. dollars in relief aid to people affected by the recent powerful earthquake in Nepal.

The donation, to be sent no later than Sunday, was allocated to follow the order issued by Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Sunday. It will be contributed by government and non-government organizations (NGOs) with 1 million U.S. dollars each, Indonesia' s National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) spokesperson Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said. "The allocation was resulted from a joint meeting between government officials and NGO representatives held in BNPB headquarters on Monday,"Sutopo told Xinhua by phone.

He added that Indonesian relief aid would consist of medicines, 300 family tents, 10,000 packages of foods, 10,000 fully-nutrient food supplements and 3,000 ready-to-eat food packages.

Besides, thousands of blankets, hundreds of body bags would also be part of the Indonesian relief aids, he added.

Sutopo said that Indonesia would also deploy 80 personnel for medical, search and rescue tasks and trained police dogs to find victims buried under the rubble.

Relief aids and personnel would be sent to Nepal by two Indonesian planes. Indonesian ambassador to Bangladesh would be assigned to stay in Nepali capital of Kathmandu to facilitate the distribution of relief aid.

Indonesian planes would bring Indonesian nationals and those from neighboring countries back to Indonesia from Nepal.

Indonesia's Foreign Affairs Ministry said earlier that 34 nationals were staying in Nepal when the deadly earthquake hit the country on Saturday. Seventeen of them were confirmed alive as they were managed to be contacted by the Indonesian Embassy in Nepal.

Nepali officials said on Monday that death toll from Saturday' s 7.9 magnitude earthquake have exceeded 3,700 and the figure would rise further. Endi
