Czech government approves financial aid to Nepal

Xinhua, April 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka wrote on Twitter on Monday that the Czech government had approved aid to earthquake-struck Nepal.

Bohuslav said the government had decided to contribute 20 million crowns (790,000 U.S. dollars) and send a medical trauma team to help Nepalese earthquake victims.

According to Public Czech Television (CT), the medical trauma team will consist of 36 physicians and firefighters.

There were thought to be 226 Czech citizens staying in Nepal when the disaster hit Saturday. Czech diplomats in Nepal and neighboring countries have as yet been unable to establish contact with 26 Czech citizens in the region. Endit
