FTSE 100 close higher on Friday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Friday increased by 0.24 percent, or 17.03 points, to 7,070.70 points, with HSBC and miners leading gains.

HSBC was the standout gainer on news that the bank was considering moving its headquarters out of Britain.

The Britain's largest bank Friday said that it was considering moving its headquarters out of Britain, following regulatory and structural reforms.

But it has not yet decided where it may consider moving its headquarters to.

HSBC Holdings's share price increased by 2.86 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. Glencore, CRH, Mondi and BAE Systems increased by 2.60 percent, 2.43 percent, 2.42 percent and 2.28 percent respectively.

Pearson led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 3.00 percent, followed by Aberdeen Asset Management (2.85 percent), Randgold Resources Ltd. (1.69 percent), Hargreaves Lansdown (1.67 percent) and AstraZeneca (1.67 percent).

The index has gained 9.24 percent so far this year when measured in U.S. dollar. Endit
