Germany's benchmark DAX index rebounds

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Friday rebounded and closed up by 0.74 percent.

The Ifo Business Climate Index for German trade and industry rose to 108.6 points in April from 107.9 points last month, the Ifo institute announced on Friday.

The strong Ifo index boosted the blue chip index but investors were still cautiously optimistic because of the concern of Greek debt issue, according to the German business daily Handelsblatt. The Dax index closed at 11,810.85 points.

The utilities company E.ON SE topped the list of risers, up by 3.07 percent. Deutsche Telekom AG gained 2.1 percent. ThyssenKrupp AG advanced by 2.08 percent. K+S Aktiengesellschaft, an international commodities company, climbed by 2.08 percent and Volkswagen AG Vz added 1.97 percent.

Muenchener Rueck AG, a reinsurance company, lost 4.74 percent. The utilities company RWE AG St slipped by 4.04 percent. Allianz SE slid by 2.25 percent. Deutsche Boerse AG plunged by 1.06 percent.

The turnover stood at 4.21 billion euros (around 4.52 billion U.S. dollars ). Allianz SE was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 579.44 million euros (around 622.74 million U.S. dollars). Endit
