Xinhua, April 24, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo shares ended lower Friday on profit-taking after recent rallies that boosted the Nikkei index to a 15-year high.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average plunged 167.61 points, or 0. 83 percent, from Thursday to 20,020.04.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 6.03 points, or 0.37 percent, to 1, 618.84.

Decliners were led by shipping, real estate and warehousing issues, while gainers included mining and energy.

The turnover was about 2,309.1 billion yen (about 19.37 billion U.S. dollars). Endi
