Singapore stocks close 0.35 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 12. 37 points, or 0.35 percent, to close at 3,496.24.

A total of 1.79 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 18 billion Singapore dollars (874.1 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 287 to 200, while 444 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 5.36 points, or 0.15 percent, to close at 3,508.61 on Tuesday. Endi
