Xinhua, April 18, 2015 Adjust font size:

India's merchandise exports in March fell by 21 percent, the lowest since 2009, official statistics said

The country's exports stood at 23.95 billion U.S. dollars, while its trade deficit for March stood at its highest since November at 11.87 billion dollars, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

Meanwhile, the March imports were at 35.74 billion dollars, down from 41.29 billion dollars in the same month a year ago.

For the fiscal 2014-15 which ended in March, imports stood at 447.5 billion dollars, down 0.6 percent year-on-year, mainly due to drop of oil price, while exports stood at 310.5 billion dollars, 1.2 percent lower year-on-year. Endi
