Evergrande beats Greentown 1-0 to retake top place of CSL

Guangzhou Evergrande defeated Hangzhou Greentown 1-0 and reached the top position of the Chinese Super League standings on Friday night, while Beijing Guoan rallied to a 2-2 tie with Guizhou Renhe on home soil.

Elkeson broke the ice for Guangzhou in the 13th minute, his half-volley shot from the edge of the area found the right bottom of the net

Davy Claude Angan N'Guessan almost equalized the score before the final whistle, but his powerful shots in the penalty area were both denied by keeper Zeng Cheng within one minute.

Zeng's magic saves brought Guangzhou a significant victory, which led the defending champions to surpass Beijing Guoan and Shanghai SIPG in the standings.

At the Beijing Workers' Stadium, Zhu Baojie gave Guizhou a surprising lead in the 34th minute, beating the offside trap and scoring in a very close range. Hyuri Costa added Guizhou's advantage by a powerful shot in the tight angle before the half time whistle.

Guoan missed a penalty chance in the 56th minute, but Yu Dabao's header in the 58th reignited the fire of a turnaround. In the 82nd minute, Pablo Batalla scored a late header to level.
