French stock market index down 0.69 pct on Tuesday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with a decrease of 0.69 percent at 5,218.06 points on Tuesday, down 36.06 points.

One day before the European Central Bank's indication for the purchase programme of government bonds, the CAC 40 closed slightly lower on Tuesday with only 5 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance.

Tuesday's top three gainers were Alcatel-Lucent, up 16.00 percent, ArcelorMittal, up 3.33 percent, and Technip, up 1.86 percent.

The three companies that lost most on Tuesday were Airbus Group, down 2.64 percent, LVMH, down 2.49 percent,and Societe Generale, down 1.92 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.26 percent at 5,254.12 points, up 13.66 points. Endit
