The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said Tuesday that the global economy is estimated to grow 3.5 percent in 2015, on par with the forecast it made in January.
The growth rate is expected to pick up to 3.8 percent in 2016. China is expected to see growth ease to 6.8 percent in 2015 and 6.3 percent in 2016. Last year, its growth rate stood at 7.4 percent. (IMF-Global Economy)

UNITED NATIONS -- The UN Security Council Tuesday adopted a resolution demanding all Yemeni parties adhere to resolving their differences through dialogue and consultation.
The resolution reiterates the council's support for the unity, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Yemen, calls upon the parties concerned to reach an agreement as soon as possible on the ceasefire and clearly requires the parties concerned in Yemen to resolve their differences in a peaceful manner through dialogue and consultation. OSAKA -- At least 20 passengers were hurt after an Airbus A320 passenger plane of South Korea's Asiana Airlines veered off the runway when landing at Hiroshima Airport in Japan Tuesday evening, local media reported.
Some 81 people were onboard the plane, namely 74 passengers and 7 crew members. Over 20 people were hurt, including at least one foreigner. (Japan-Plane-Accident)

MOGADISHU -- At least eight people were killed following an attack Tuesday on Somalia's education ministry headquarters in the capital Mogadishu, police said.
Police officer Nor Ali, who was on the scene, told Xinhua the attackers first launched an explosion at the ministry's wall near the gate before storming the building and taking over. (Somalia-Attack)

ISLAMABAD -- At least six militants were killed in an airstrike launched by the Pakistani army in the country's northwest tribal area of Orakzai Agency on Tuesday, local media reported.
Samaa TV said that during an overnight operation, army jet fighters pounded three militants' hideouts in the Saifal Darra and Shakar Tangi area of Orakzai Agency, a restive tribal area along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. (Pakistan-Attack)

BAGHDAD -- A total of five people were killed and 18 others wounded in two car bomb explosions in and near the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, an interior ministry source said.
A booby-trapped car detonated at a park near Yarmouk Hospital in western Baghdad, killing three people and wounding ten others, along with destroying several nearby cars, a source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-Car-Bomb) Endi
