Vietnam to have 4th general aviation service provider

Xinhua, April 14, 2015 Adjust font size:

Vietnam is expected to see the participation of the fourth general aviation service provider as the government have agreed on the granting of business license for Globaltrans Air JSC.

Vietnam's Ministry of Transport (MOT) said Tuesday that the ministry was assigned to grant business license for the company, which "meets the minimum requirements on capital to operate as a general aviation service provider" as said by Vietnam's Civil Aviation Authority.

Globaltrans Air JSC was established in July 2014 in Vietnam's southern Ho Chi Minh City with charter capital of 100 billion Vietnamese dong (nearly 4.684 million U.S. dollars).

The company has signed contract to buy two Beechcraft King Air B200 aircraft in 2014-2015 period, said the ministry.

Vietnam currently has three general aviation service providers including the Vietnam Helicopter Corporation, the Vietnam Air Service Company (VASCO) and Hai Au Aviation JSC.

General aviation is all civil aviation operations other than scheduled air services and non-scheduled air transport operations for remuneration or hire. General aviation flights range from gliders and powered parachutes to corporate business jet flights. Endi
