EU gives green light to creation of joint venture by Bilfinger, G.L. Swarovski

Xinhua, April 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

The European Union (EU) approved the creation of a joint venture by Bilfinger of Germany and G.L. Swarovski of Austria under the EU Merger Regulation, the European Commission said in a press release on Monday.

Bilfinger is a global engineering and services group, while G.L. Swarovski is mainly active in the sale and worldwide distribution of various products including packaging, hygiene products as well as paper articles.

The joint venture will distribute single-use medical and care products of all kinds to hospitals, nursing care facilities and private individuals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, according to the press release.

The commission said the creation of the joint venture would not raise competition concerns, because it does not lead to any overlaps with the activities of its parents. The transaction was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. Endit
