Slovenia, Czech leaders discuss economic cooperation

Xinhua, April 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar met with his Czech counterpart Bohuslav Sobotka here on Monday with both sides focusing on furthering economic cooperation.

Addressing a press conference after the talks, Cerar said Czech companies are welcome in the privatization process in Slovenia. Sobotka also voiced Czech Republic's interest in investing in Slovenia.

The two countries will seek opportunities to cooperate in infrastructure, transport and energy, according to the two prime ministers.

The modernization of the Port of Koper and of the railway that links with the sole maritime port in Slovenia is believed to be the most important cooperation projects underway.

The Czech Republic is one of Slovenia's main trade partners with annual merchandise trade exceeding 1 billion euros (1.06 billion U.S. dollars) in 2014. Enditem
