A community college campus in the U.S. state of North Carolina was locked down Monday morning after a reported shooting.

Early Monday, a message appeared on the website of Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, North Carolina, which read "This is not a drill. The entire campus is under lockdown."

According to local media, the shooting reportedly took place at a campus library, but further details about the circumstance of the incident were not available at the moment.

The Goldsboro News-Argus quoted college officials in a tweet as saying one suspect had been taken under control by police and that the incident was not a hostage situation.
