1st LD: 4 Indian policemen killed by leftwing rebels

Xinhua, April 13, 2015 Adjust font size:

Four security personnel were killed and eight others were injured as leftwing rebels blew up a police vehicle in the central Indian state of Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district on Monday, said local media.

The anti-landmine vehicle was on a patrol near Cholnar, about 25 km away from district headquarters of Dantewada, when the rebels triggered a powerful blast, said local daily Times of Indian.

This is the third deadly attack by the naxalite leftwing rebels against Indian security forces within two days.

Earlier Monday, the rebels attacked a paramilitary police force team, killing an officer in Chhattisgarh's insurgency-hit Kanker district.

Seven policemen were killed on Saturday in another district of the state by the rebels. Endi
