French airports to cancel 40 pct of flights due to air traffic controllers strike

About 40 percent of flights from French airports are likely to be cancelled from Wednesday as air traffic controllers set to stage a two-day strike against work conditions, France's Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) said on Tuesday.
The DGAC has asked airlines to keep four flights out of 10 on Wednesday after the National Union of Air Traffic Controllers (SNCTA) said to stop working on April 8-9 to protest against the work organization and retirement age.
"Traffic disruption is expected on the whole territory," it said in a statement.
It has also advised passengers to check if their flights set to be cancelled in the strike before heading for airports. Endit
