Three people killed in accident in Sri Lanka

At least three people including an eight-month-old infant were killed and two others injured in an accident outside capital Colombo on Monday, police said.

The police media unit said the accident occurred when a lorry and a three wheeler collided on the Puttalam -- Colombo main road in the north western province of the island nation.

A male and female were amongst those killed while an eight-year- old boy and a female were amongst those who was rushed to the Chilaw Hospital for treatment.

Police said an investigation had been launched into the accident. Endi
