Tokyo shares lower by break on weak U.S. jobs data

Tokyo shares ended the morning session lower on Monday as sentiment here was weighed down by a suspicion of U.S. economy slowdown due to a weaker-than-expected U. S. jobs data.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 36.39 points, or 0.19 percent, from Friday to 19,398.69.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 4.86 points, or 0.31 percent, at 1, 559.30. Endi
