Tokyo shares open lower on weak U.S. jobs data

Tokyo shares opened lower Monday on a weaker-than-expected U.S. jobless data that triggered concerns over U.S. economic slowdown.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 93.87 points, or 0.48 percent, from Friday to 19,341.21.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 8.88 points, or 0.57 percent, to 1, 555.28. Endi
