French stock market index up 0.24 pct on Thursday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.24 percent at 5,074.14 points on Thursday, up 11.92 points.

Last trading day before Easter holiday, the CAC 40 closed slightly higher on Thursday with 29 of the 40 selected companies gaining advance.

Thursday's top three gainers were Alcatel-Lucent, up 2.27 percent, Renault, up 1.55 percent, and Essilor Intl., up 1.54 percent.

The three companies that lost most on Thursday were Kering, down 3.07 percent, Vivendi, down 1.15 percent, and Total, down 1.13 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with an advance of 0.57 percent at 5,062.22 points, up 28.58 points. Enditem
